Privacy, without obscurity.

1. The short version

Everyone can explore STAIRVEIL without creating an account. Discoveries, interaction progress, reading progress, and preferences are stored in the browser on that device. Previously saved information remains protected.

Anonymous Google Analytics is off unless you actively allow it. STAIRVEIL does not send private writing, interaction values, selected tones, or other personal entries to analytics.

2. Information STAIRVEIL handles

Information you choose to enter

This may include saved discoveries, reading progress, interaction progress, and sound or accessibility settings. Any previously saved private material remains protected and is never sent to analytics.

Previously saved information

Information associated with an existing account may include its available name, email address, and earlier saved preferences or progress. Existing records remain protected even when account controls are no longer part of the public site.

Contact messages

If you use the Contact form, we store the reply email, optional name, selected topic, message, and submission time so the message can be reviewed and answered. The form does not intentionally store your IP address or browser fingerprint.

Anonymous usage data

If you allow analytics, Google Analytics may process broad technical and usage information such as device and browser type, referring page, approximate region, and which main STAIRVEIL spaces are opened. Advertising personalization and Google Signals are disabled in STAIRVEIL’s analytics configuration.

3. How information is used

• To operate and personalize interactive experiences, Resonance, reading, and quiet discoveries.
• To preserve existing visitor information and progress securely.
• To preserve preferences such as reduced motion, sound, and accessibility choices.
• To answer contact, support, privacy, and legal requests.
• To understand broad site use and improve reliability when analytics consent is granted.
• To protect the service from misuse and comply with law.

STAIRVEIL does not sell personal information. Private reflective text is not used for advertising.

4. Device storage, cookies, and analytics

STAIRVEIL uses browser storage to remember your path and device preferences. Essential hosting technologies may protect existing stored information. Optional analytics is loaded only after consent, and clearing this site’s browser data resets your saved choice.

5. Service providers and disclosure

Information may be processed by providers that help host the site, protect existing account data, deliver infrastructure, or, only after consent, provide analytics. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy obligations. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect safety, investigate abuse, or defend legal rights.

Google advertising and third-party vendors

If advertising is enabled, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies or similar identifiers to serve and measure ads based on visits to this website or other websites. Google and its partners may use advertising cookies for personalization where permitted and where any legally required consent has been obtained. Advertising is not permitted to use private writing, saved thoughts, or personal reading notes from STAIRVEIL.

6. Retention and deletion

Device data remains until you clear the browser’s site data or remove it through browser settings. Previously saved account information remains protected until a deletion request is processed, subject to limited retention for safety and legal needs. Contact messages may be kept for up to 24 months unless needed longer for an active request, security, or legal obligation. Analytics retention follows the limited settings of the connected Google Analytics property.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of personal information, and to withdraw consent. Use the in-product controls first, or submit a request through the Contact page. We may need to verify that the request relates to you before acting.

Withdrawing analytics consent does not affect earlier lawful processing, but it stops future optional analytics on that browser.

8. Security and international processing

Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used, but no internet service can promise absolute security. Service providers may process data in the United States or other countries where they operate, subject to applicable safeguards.

9. Children

STAIRVEIL is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us so it can be reviewed and removed.

10. Changes and contact

This policy may change as STAIRVEIL develops. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are published. Questions or privacy requests can be sent through the Contact page. No home address or private phone number is published on this website.
